Best Of Events & Things To Do On Canada Day 2021 in Edmonton

Every July 1, Canadians hit the streets in a show of patriotism to celebrate the national holiday of Canada Day. The day commemorates the anniversary of the Constitution Act of 1867, which united the three British provinces of Canada, Nova, Scotia, and New Brunswick. to help you make the most of the holiday, we’ve compiled a list of how and where you can celebrate Canada Day 2021 in Edmonton and the area check it out!


1)  Annual July 1st Canada Day Parade + Picnic, Riverdale Community League, Edmonton, July 1, 2021


Join your Riverdale Community League for a socially distanced celebration!

Meet at the Riverdale School grounds at 2pm on July 1st to kick off with our annual Canada Day parade! Then follow us down to the Riverdale Hall for music at 3pm. Remember to bring your own picnic supplies and stick to your household cohort.

This event will follow all provincial health + safety guidelines detailed in phase 2 of the summer reopening plan.


2) Canada Day Annual Fireworks with Livestream, Edmonton Garrison, July 1 2021 



Canada Day Annual Fireworks 2021 will commence at approximately 10:30 pm and be visible in the skies all over CFB Edmonton.

Due to Covid-19 things are a little different this year; however, we still want to celebrate Canada Day 2021 with you as safely as possible. Join our event page for access to the live stream of our fireworks display.

In order to facilitate physical distancing audience members are encouraged to watch the display from their private property in the Residential Housing Units or from a vehicle parked in any of the larger parking lots on base. Several signal fireworks will be launched prior to the main display in order for audience members to finalize their line of sight to the display. 


3) Canada Day Drive-Thru, 308 Saddleback Rd NW, Edmonton, AB T6J 4R7, Canada, July 1, 2021 


Hop in the car and pull up for some free treats beside your local MLA office. Fun for the whole family!
We will be doing the same style of event Canada Day drive-thru as last year, like a drive-thru take-out window, at 3 locations.
1. Edmonton-Meadows: 3323-34 Street NW
2. Edmonton-Mill Woods: 3450-93 Street NW
3. Edmonton-Rutherford: 308 Saddleback Road NW

Drive-thru each location between 12-2pm on July 1st, to pick up some tasty treats

4) Newcastle Presents Canada Day 2021, Newcastle Pub & Grill, Edmonton, July 1, 2021



Get ready to celebrate this Canada Day with some of Edmonton's finest! Tim Isberg and friends & Soul rockers with Rick Francis will perform live in concert. Newcastle Presents Canada Day 2021 Hosted By Newcastle Pub & Grill. The event starts on Thursday, 1 July 2021, and happening at Newcastle Pub & Grill, Edmonton, AB. 


5) Annual Canada Day BBQ, Westend Seniors Activity Centre, Edmonton, June 30 2021 


We would love for you to join us for an Annual Canada Day BBQ to celebrate our country’s birthday.

We will be offering two different options and two different time slots for you to choose from. You can reserve a spot on our newly decorated deck as option 1. Or you may choose to stay in your vehicle or bring a picnic blanket and enjoy your lunch by the lake.
